Chronic fatigue has been around a lot longer than Covid. I'm so tired of hearing about long covid sufferers. Where were they when we were suffering from the same symptoms for more than 100+ years. No one cared until now.

I totally understand how you feel, I think it can also be frustrating that someone else's diagnosis can feel so much like a privilege. I deal with diagnosis envy a lot. On the other hand - their symptoms and suffering are just as real as ours and doctors are finally STARTING to take ME seriously.

Did you have covid? I did not and they still don't take me seriously.

I also did not have covid- I literally did not leave my apartment for years to avoid it. I went through a significant number of doctor's who did not take me seriously nor were they very interested in finding out more - OR they said "that's not my specialty." "Traditional" medicine does not work for people who present with complicated multisympton illnesses, unless you are extremely lucky and find a doctor who is actually curious. If you listen to the Atlantic podcast i posted it discusses how doctors are actually some of the worst people to discuss chronic fatigue with due to the culture that surrounds them. At this point I have little faith in MDs and I have developed a bias against them. I did not find a doctor who took me seriously until I started seeing functional medical doctor who was an MD and then I moved to a naturopathic functional medical doctor who has literally been a life saver. I could go on and on about this. But it is truly a nightmare.

I'm tired of doctors too. My therapist was the only help I ever had and she retired during Covid. I haven't broken in my new therapist plus he doesn't do meds so I have to talk to another doctor. Hugs
