Bookshop announcement, Abby Jimenez, more Applied Arts, and after party still lifes
Happy New Year! I hope everyone has recovered from their post vacation scaries. I apologize for the extra unreliability of this newsletter over the past few weeks - my body has been experiencing some stranger than usual symptoms, which at this point remain a painful abdominal mystery. Trying my best not to become a Debbie Downer- which would be unhelpful all around.
My big announcement for this newsletter is that I became an affiliate of bookshop.org - so in some ways I have opened the bookstore that I have always wanted- but virtually. I am still playing around with it - but I do have some recommendations up. ALSO - you can buy any books through my bookstore, even if it is nothing that I suggested (just make sure it says Unreliable Newsletter at the top). You can also purchase ebooks and audiobooks. I welcome any feedback! I have included a list of books that are accessible, well written, and enjoyable reads – which I have come to appreciate more and more as time goes on. For this category I want to highlight Abby Jimenez- who is technically a romance writer, but I think she takes it up a notch- she creates such relatable and complex characters, and she does it in such a kind and hilarious way. She is very funny and has a great Instagram account, which features her four hilarious dogs. I must confess that I have had dreams where I get to hang out with her and run errands – it was amazing. I usually listen to her books on audiobook.
I am currently juggling a few books now – all of which I am enjoying and reading slowly – per usual. In the tradition of keeping this newsletter short, I am going to leave my next book review for the next edition.
I thought I would start the new year with sharing some of my favorite craftspeople - some contemporary applied artists - since applied arts has been a bit of a theme around here.

I will conclude this post with a couple “after the party” images that I have loved this past week.
